Aging America
I would LOVE to have something positive to say, but as you know it is getting more and more difficult. There is still lots of good taking place in our world. I see it every day and participate. We see on the news children are at risks for situations I never thought or imagined. The elderly finding that the world they knew as a child no longer exists. Health care has become more about profit and not people. I do what I can to bring light into a world of darkness and ask others to do the same.
With all that in mind I walked out my front door and noticed the flag had broken off the holder and my Son in Law had placed it on my table until he could get a new holder. I looked closely at the weathered rocker, circular stone table and the flag. The symbolism of the arrangement struck me to represent the aging of the Elderly in America. The broken support and the table representing our nations influence across the world supported by an old, weathered rocker not getting the attention it should. I had to paint it, and I love the final outcome. Pray for PEACE!

Apples vs Oranges
Comparing Apples and Oranges is not what I usually do. However, I did have the opportunity to paint them. I gathered the following materials, clean dish cloth, bowl, apples and oranges. I put them together and painted them with ambient light. No special set up. I just let it happen and found my perfect point of view. Hope you like it!!! I didn't really realize the colors in the cloth until I started painting. Very challenging!!

Sand Shadow Beach Boy
I liked this image on many levels. The abstract nature of the shadows in the sand seem to tell a story of his exploration. The simple yet honest fascination children have while observing their own shadow is always amusing to me. In this Painting the boy seems frozen in time looking at the distorted shadow in the sand. It makes you wonder what amazing stories are coursing through his mind maybe images of Aliens or being Super Human etc. Anyway I look at it I SMILE. I hope you do too!

Great Escape
It was a beautiful summer day much like today. Karen and I took a nice stroll through the sidewalks of Lambertville, NJ. We were looking at all the interesting shops and grabbing a bite to eat. As we walk through the town, I am always looking for interesting architecture, windows, storefronts, signs, and people. I saw this gentleman completely absorbed by his phone. I watched for a few minutes before taking the photo. It is the bubble we fall into where nothing else exists. The whole world is going by, but we find ourselves in this digital world that we can control. The GREAT ESCAPE!

Ella’s Ice Water
Tre Fratelli 17 Summit Square, Langhorne, PA 19047 is one of Karen and my favorite eateries. All the food is delicious. The service is GREAT too. Which leads to this painting. The time eating there prior to this we had a long discussion with the owner Jim about Art and everything else. It was very refreshing and informative to speak to a business owner about everything happening in the world today. It turned out we had very similar backgrounds and work ethics.
This time we stopped in I asked if Jim was available. Of course, he was but was doing a million things but was nice enough and took the time to come out and say hello. Jim let us know the Fabulous Waitress we had that day was his daughter Ella.
We had a wonderful lunch in a very relaxing atmosphere. I asked for a glass of water. I received a nice cold tall glass with ice and a straw. After drinking some I finally notice the artistic composition. I took a few quick shots and looked at the photos later. This is the composition I finally decided on. Hope you like it. I DO!

Pre Pandemic visit to Lambertville, NJ. Karen and I walked around town to see all the interesting shops. The shops are interesting both inside and outside. This is a very odd to try to capture in paint. I must have changed the window configuration at least 4 times. I think I finally got it 😉 You will also notice that most of the building is in shadow. Hope to be back to Lambertville, NJ. Soon!

My Granddaughter Livy took this photo and asked me if it would make a nice Oil Painting! I told her no and started working on it immediately for her 20th Birthday. That was about 3 weeks ago. Finished it this week. Just in time her Birthday is June 17th. I know, I was there when she was born, Livy is my first of five grandchildren. I feel very blessed. I wish all my grandchildren the success that Olivia exhibits working full time and attending nursing school. I love her very much!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIVY ?

Charlies Dogwood
My Nextdoor neighbor Charlie planted this beautiful Dogwood on his property next to my driveway. I loved to see it's beautiful blooms every year. It is always a plus when your neighbor really cares for their property. I am happy to say that I live in a neighbor where people care about their neighbors. I guess that is why I have lived in or owned three properties here within a stones throw. The first one I was raised in with my family. The second was my backyard neighbors house which I purchased to raise my family. Finally I sold that house to my youngest Daughter and bought the house, from a childhood friend, across the street to build my Studio.

Hot Stuff
Another traveling painting. I saw these neat little bottles at a coffee shop in Langhorne, Pa. It was about four years ago my friend Marty Shively was having a show that Karen and I attended. It was a cool coffee shop with Art on the walls and a band playing. I noticed these bottles high on a shelf and there were about thirty different sauces. I never knew there was so many varieties of Hot Sauce! I might even paint some more varieties!

DaVinci Dedication
I was watching a video tour of the place of birth of the great Leonardo da Vinci. Place of birth: Anchiano. The small monument in the painting is a dedication to the great master. I decided to continue my investigation into the Magical Clementine Peels. The first painting was a successful Portrait of the Peels. This is more of an interest in the lighting and surrounding area. Clementine Peels
I posted the steps I used in painting this Oil Painting on March 10th on Facebook. Here are my thoughts for the day 😉
Today my lunch is simple. I love clementine's. So I had two for lunch. I placed the peel on the cats scratching post. The post top is covered with a soft grey furry material. When I turned to take a break I noticed the sun was illuminating the peels through the open door. The light and color were intense and beautiful. I grabbed a oil primed 11 x 14 linen canvas and started the painting. NOW FINISHED!

Mill Wheels
I always LOVE exhibiting at the Prallsville Mill, in Stockton, NJ. Living and working most of my life in Industrial settings I am always attracted to the process. These wheels represent an old process of the mill. I have considered painting this scene for many years but knew how difficult it might be to define. Well, I was right! First time for everything 😉 I enjoyed bring life to the different types of wood and showing how time has affected the metals. The room itself is very wide open and i wanted to capture that atmosphere. For those who have visited the Mill I hope it feels the way you remember. For everyone else take time to visit and support Prallsville Mill and the Artsbridge Artist Group! This is a very common landscape in Bucks County with a little twist 😉 I have experienced these scenes for many years but as luck would have it, something struck a chord with my artistic sensibilities. I saw something wonderful in the weeds in front of the typical landscape. I knew it was magical and musical. The colors of the various weeds played across my field of view. I wanted to share in paint what I was seeing and if your listen hearing! Hope you enjoy the music 😉

Karen A Smith and I were gallery sitting at this day and walked around taking photos before going in the gallery. I think I choose this image about two or three years ago. I knew I wanted to paint the scene but I didn't know how I wanted the composition to look. Thanks to COVID for giving me the time to figure out what I wanted to do! Mt interest was mainly the old mailboxes. With email and social media we don't have too much use for them besides occasional advertisements. I also loved the overgrowth reclaiming the old building 😉

Sometime paintings appear to be simple compositions. This one was not. The texture of the dashboard took much longer to paint than the cranes. Since I don't paint for money I can spend 4 weeks painting what I want to paint. It is something I have worked towards my entire lifetime. It is a very gratifying feeling. It gives me the freedom to express my ideas to the very best of my abilities in Oil Paint. Although I have been painting for a very long time I always find new and interesting people, places and things to paint. Feel free to comment 😉

Church Cove Start
Months ago I wrote about my Journey through the UK area known as Church Cove on the Lizard, with the Cornish Maid. It has been a very exciting and awaking experience. Never having the opportunity to use a video as a reference for a finished painting I learned so much. The possibility of creating a finished Oil Painting from a place I have never physically experienced didn't seem real. I think I may have psychically "Astral projection", travelled there during the creation of these six paintings.
It was such a good release for me to be able to express my inner feelings about these places and escape from all that is taking place in our real world. I can only hope that my work brings some comfort and escape for others.

Church Cove Walk
Time to paint. As a Practicing Professional Oil Painter , boy that's a mouthful, I am constantly looking for interesting ways to interpreter my world. I paint what I find fascinating, beautiful, complicated, surreal, attractive, etc. In short I paint what I want to paint. I am lucky enough not to be bound to money or fame as a reason to create Art. I am not in competition to do better than anyone or show off. I don't need to impress anyone but myself. I have been on this journey for many years and I love it!
I appreciate when people tell me how my work makes them feel or what memory it brings them. The first page, first line in my book states "Life is worth Living" , share your happiness. It is free to give. All the negative thing eventually pass and we need them to make us appreciate the good times.
We may be in this Covid lockdown but it doesn't control us or the way we feel. I have been in my home waiting for a vaccine, only leaving for doctor appointments or pick up food and medicine. This situation led me to why I decided to paint a series of paintings based off screen shots taken by a Facebook friend the "Cornish Maid" in the UK.

PS. My Irish humor will not let me publish this article without this disclaimer. I will definitely accept money for any of my paintings 😉 All offers considered!
Roof Cat at Church Cove
Walking around Church Cove! I joined the Facebook Group Devon and Cornwall heritage because I visited the area with my Family and my Daughters Father in Law grew up in the area and my partner Karen A Smith has roots there.
I posted several Oil Paintings I did of Cornwell on the site and received a pleasant response. While reviewing others posts I found some videos shared by the "The Cornish Maid". The video that caught my attention is titled "Church Cove, The Lizard". While watching for the first time I really felt like I was there and every turn in the road was a new painting. WOW!!! I contacted the Cornish Maid and told her of my intentions and asked permission to reference her video.
This is the first time I ever tried this. Ever since COVID we have been doing lots of different things. Most professional artists that use reference material don't copy exactly anyway. We interpret what we see. In the states we don't have many areas with this history or charm 😉
Out of the twenty or so screen captures I have about 8 good painting references. This Original Oil Painting is the first of many to come. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it.

Church Cove Plein Aire
Painting outside on the coast sounds like a relaxing proposition. The Artist and her dog are enjoying their cool afternoon sitting outside their ancient stone studio. Written on the large grey plaque on the side of the stone building is "The Witch House". Don't know the story for that, but it certainly sounds interesting. I would love to visit this area but I know my knees are saying "No Way". Lots of hills. This is the third painting completed from the video supplied by the "Cornish Maid" . I would like to thank her for allowing me to use this as a reference. It is a fun project.

Church Cove Plein-Air2
Plein-Air denoting or in the manner of a 19th-century style of painting outdoors, or with a strong sense of the open air, that became a central feature of French impressionism.
This Plein Air Painter is relaxing with her dog. At least that is how I imagine it to be! This is the fifth painting of Church Cove in Cornwall. Maybe one more 😉

Church Cove Studio
Special places! When I first saw this scene I wanted to be there. I had all kinds of stories in my imagination about this stone home being my Art Studio on the water. I think my Zodiac sign I am a water person. Whatever that means 😉 LOL
When I started painting the scene new images started to form in my mind. Everything seemed like a geometrical puzzle with overlapping and repetitive forms. I was really drawn in to paint this scene.
This is the fourth Original Oil Painting I have completed from the Cornish Maids video of the walk she filmed of Church Cove on the Lizard.

Backyard Cats
Cats in the Yard. This house has a History. I know my neighbor who owned the house told me in the 60's about the cats in the yard. Anyway the cats in this Oil Painting represent many past generations of felines! When I initially purchased this home I knew about the cats. The first few years I was busy reconstructing the house to be a live in Studio. The cats were outside.
Then I met Karen A Smith who is an animal lover, protector, psychologist, and rescuer.
Since Karen is my Partner and Best Friend I took an interest in my Yard Cats. I could write a book!!! These are three cats watching me paint in my studio. They STARE AT ME!!!! I now love and protect them. Old dogs can learn new tricks. Even with an extreme CAT allergy ;)

Theresa's Bounty
We are living in very unusual times. Our world does not seem real and is very unsorted. It is extremely difficult to organize our calendar, thoughts or put together any plans. It is a good thing we have each other to make some sense of it all. After all we are in this surreal bag of whatever together. Life is worth living and Art is worth creating to express these feelings.
With all that in mind I painted this new creation. My daughter Theresa May, who lives in the UK, is a world class Photographer and Gardener ;) . She took a series of photos for me to work with for a painting composition. I though the one I choose reflected our current life situation.

Plate of Party Peppers
The story of this Original Oil Painting starts with a donation. My partner invited her childhood friend for a visit at our studio. Karen's friend Dawn brought us some home grown vegetables from her garden. You never know what may inspire so I take photos. I had fun with this Oil Painting in using some dynamic positioning in the layout. I didn't bother to light the subject in any certain way. I felt that added to the complexity of the arrangement. The design of the plate also added to the degree of difficulty. All things considered this was fun to paint, which leads to the title.

🤪Keeping with the thought of painting what I experience and enjoy, I decided to create this Oil Painting. I was visiting an open house celebration at Bolton Mansion in Lower Bucks County. Karen A Smith gets credit for the photo that I used to create this unique observation. After discussing the merits of this composition, Karen and I found the see through quality behind the figure and the contrast of the reflection of the trees behind us in the window panes over top of the figure very visually complex and interesting. There are many more parts to what interest me in this composition, but I will let you use your imagination 😉

Patterson Farm Tractor Portrait
I usually paint what I experience or find interesting. My subjects are people places and things that I have some connection. I also paint objects that I find to be beautiful in some way. I like to challenge myself to paint scenes I think may be difficult. This Oil Painting is a Tractor Portrait. I have painted many paintings of the Patterson Farm in Yardley, Pa. This is one more.
You may ask why would paint a tractor. I spent many years as a heavy equipment operator, process control tech, and a technical illustrator of military manuals. So I understand and have an interest on how these machines operate and are put together. Hope it is interesting to you also!

Path to Priory Park
When I found this canvas I knew the image I wanted to paint. I have heard over the years many reasons Artists have for working in certain size canvas or boards. Mine reasoning is simple. I choose the appropriate size "Standard" canvas to portray the image. Why "Standard"? The most direct answer is, I am not a frame maker and standard is "less expensive" ;) Standard also makes it very easy for the client to change the frame.
The image is a continuation of my visit to the UK when I visited my family. I love the beauty that surrounds the towns and country side. Living in Bucks County I appreciate the history and dedication of the people to keep their building, farms, and open landscapes! Almost everywhere you turn in the UK amazing views ;)

Road Trim
I stopped the car to get a photo of this scene and I did an Oil Sketch with the plan to do a final piece. My interest was the dynamic view, color, and nature vs man. Someone really LOVES this tree ;) Hope you love it too!

Mahoning County Court House
Geometric attraction is what drew me to this scene. The short story is I was living and working in Youngstown, Ohio in 2004. I would attend the Youngstown Kiwanis meeting which was held in the YMCA building located next to the Mahoning County Court House. I passed this scene and was attracted to the shapes. So I did some sketches and took many photos. I decided on a focus of limited but extreme perspective. A little bit of organized chaos much like the life I lead ;) I cropped the image into a difficult layout as a challenge in many ways. I started the painting in 2004. Changed the colors, highlights, shadows etc. many times until I finally put the Oil Painting away. I approached this image many times over the years but was never satisfied with the direction. Finally after completing several other difficult works I attacked this Oil Painting again. I'm glad I did. Hope you like it too.

Lambertville Lunch
Sharing Lunch with friends is something I am missing terribly. This scene happened when Karen A Smith and I spent a day in Lambertville, NJ and ended up at one of my favorite eateries "Caffe Galleria". The people and service are great there. Oh yea "So is the Food!" It is a very relaxing atmosphere surrounded by beautiful Local Artwork.
Note: If this took place today you would have to space them and they all would be wearing masks. Pray for a vaccine quick!

Satterthwaite Farm House Portrait
Voices from the past exist in our everyday lives. There are many places, objects, and images that capture our hearts and minds to evoke intense human emotions. I passed this Satterthwaite Farm House for many years and watched it deteriorate, always hopeful that someone or an organization would save it. I love Bucks County people and places. This Farm House located on the Patterson Farm property, has imprinted the History it holds on my mind. I look at the dilapidated exterior and can only image all the lives, generations, births, deaths, activities, celebrations, and sadness that have taken place in that interior environment. It is all very important to our current situation and life experiences. I can only do the one activity I feel will best express and save this wonderful extension of all our lives. I have painted images of this Satterthwaite Farm House to share with you and hopefully many generations to come. Please enjoy the memories and be happy for those who left us something to remember ;)

Amazing Leaves
Finding Inspiration comes from many places. Bucks County has always been an area of abundant talent. It is the home to some of the most amazing Artists in the world. So I feel truly blessed to have been raised and experience the Great Artists of Bucks County and surrounding areas. Part of that experience is visiting local Shows and Exhibits for the pure joy of the visual arts and also for inspiration.
I went to a local gallery in the Yardley, Pa. area operated by a non-profit
Artist group, "Artists of Yardley". This group has a beautiful renovated stone house which is used for many purposes including an excellent Art Gallery. I walked through the current show and was very pleased with all the local talent. It was time to leave and my mind was spinning with painting ideas. As I walked to my car, I just happened to look down and was stopped in my tracks. Just my luck the most wonderful arrangement of colorful leaves were arranged feet from my car by nature. This is how the current Oil Painting came to be.
I started the Oil Painting over a year ago. Sometime very difficult paintings will be set aside until I am ready to tackle the challenge. Our current isolation because of the Corona Virus presented the perfect time to enjoy nature. Hope you like it

We left the Studio and proceeded to do some errands and while taking a stroll through Langhorne, Pa. I decided to go home via Hulmeville, Pa. where we stopped at the Johnson Hall Coffee House. The building had been recently reconstructed and majorly renovated into a beautiful and very relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. There was various Art on the walls and soft music playing as we sipped our cappuccino, served in a beautiful blue coffee cup. As we were enjoying everything I took some mental notes for painting and some photos. Take some time to visit this place it's wonderful.

Sunning Henry
Sunning Henry
Those who have followed my Facebook site already know I talk and sing to my plants and yard animals ;) I believe Henry is my first plant in this Home. We have enjoyed his company for many years. He has many children and grandchildren. On a warm day while giving Henry a drink I noticed something special. My interest was catching the light playing gently through his leaves and vines which contrasted with the colors of the outside yard and seemed to be illuminated. I though you may enjoy Henry too !!!

River Road Quarry
Gone but not forgotten! This painting was completed sometime in the seventies. I painted lots of Oil Landscapes of the Washington Crossing area, Canal, and across the river. It is an Oil Painting on Canvas of the Prison Quarry on River Road in New Jersey. I liked the image so I kept it for my own viewing pleasure. In the nineties I was working for United States Steel as a Training Coordinator. The Oil Painting was hanging on the wall in my office. A very good Friend of mine (Arthur "Bud" McDermott) from the production unit I worked for many years stopped in my office to announce his retirement and shake my hand one last time. Bud was a true friend! When I asked him where the retirement party was to be held, he smiled. No party :( I looked over Bud's head at the Oil Painting of the Prison Quarry. I asked him to stand, and then removed the painting from the wall and handed it to him with a smile and said " Enjoy this memory for many years". He could hardly control his emotions. That was a reaction I didn't expect. On my side it felt great to treat someone the way I would want to be treated. With dignity, respect and fellowship for the many years we worked side by side. Bud gave one last embrace and left with the Oil Painting. I never saw or heard from him again. The story doesn't end there ;)
A few weeks ago I received an IM on Facebook from someone I met at a dinner party at a patrons house. Apparently Bud's painting landed in a Langhorne Thrift Shop. "Ooooh the HUMANITY" Not exactly where I want my Original Oil Paintings to be exhibited. It does get worse ;( When I asked how much was paid for the Oil Painting I was floored! Let's just say it tooooo low to mention the actual price. The purchaser was thrilled I was embarrassed. Well at least it wasn't thrown in the trash. Lucky for me the new owner was familiar with Fine Art and local Artists. It's not their first find. The owner agreed to allow me to photograph the Art and place it on my web sites. They are also willing to sell the Oil Painting to help pay their child's College tuition. Hope you like it.

Bentley
What is a Friend can be answered in many ways. It is usually something you earn, nurture and develop over a long period of time. It is a bond of mutual affection. Not something casual or occasional. Some friendships are so close they are will to "take the bullet" for you. Those friends are few and if you have one you are blessed.
So are we talking about men and women that we know? There is another definite friend that meets all the criteria! Our family pets (some consider them their children). I have only had one in my life so far and he recently passed. Richard Vallejo showed me a photo of his friend "Bentley". Rich wanted a portrait painted in oils to remember and honor his friend forever.

Who you callin Chicken!
I guess the EASTER Season is inspirational for me. This is the second Oil Painting completed with a sort of Holiday theme. After all the Easter Bunny does bring Easter eggs and candy. Somebody had to make the eggs. From what I understand it is chickens! This particular poultry seemed to have somewhat of an attitude problem. Soooooo..... SIT
Whenever I'm in Bristol I try to stop in to visit Rich Vallejo at Another Time Antiques on Mill Street. Rich and I have been friends since he first opened his business in the early Seventies. The Famous Mill Street Studio started by John Ennis , Neil McIlvaine and me, was located right across the street. Over the years Rich has helped me personally and the Arts in Bristol.
Karen and I stopped in for a visit and Rich was showing her some Jewelry while I was playing with the dog(Lexus). Rich always takes the time to welcome visitors and usually has some interesting stories :) We finished our business and Lexus was trying to follow us out the door. With one command "SIT" this image is what the Lexus did immediately. Karen immediately took a photo. I couldn't help but to do a study of this beautiful animal. You can feel the respect and obedience Lexus has for his buddy Rich P Vallejo ;)

Days End
Family Christmas dinner 2018 was in Central Bucks. Since my car had broken down, I was driving a loaner car without GPS. I printed out the directions from Google Maps, so that got me 95% of the way there. The last 5% I had to be talked in on the phone. I got there :) Joe and Rose had a beautiful home and lots of food and drink for the occasion. Had a great time at the party and met new friends. I met Rose's Dad who sang in a Doo Wop group back in the day. Great guy! The next day I friended Rose on Facebook and got her Father's Facebook name. After Rose accepted my Friend request I saw the Sunset photo she had taken. I wrote to Rose and asked if she took the photo and if I could use it for painting. Happily I was given permission :) As it turns out there is a show opening in Central Bucks, Opening Reception, Thursday, April 18, 2019 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at The Bridges at Warwick, 1600 Almshouse Road, Jamison PA. sponsored by The Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce and William & Laurie Schutt. The exhibit happens to be called " 33rd Annual Bucks Fever Art Exhibition Dusk to Dawn". So the painting fits. Oh yea! Getting home from Joe's house without GPS. FOGET ABOUTIT. A one hour ride took three. Hate driving at night and no co pilot didn't help. Oh well the Oil Painting is now complete. Hope it gets into the Exhibit! Thanks Roseanne Otto-Bayer!

Levittown Dusk
The Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce is having an Exhibit in March titled "Dusk to Dawn" . Submissions deadline is February 15, 2019. I'm thinking it should be a very interesting show. There are many Traditional ways to interpret this subject. Mine is not so Traditional :) Levittown, Pa. has become a very interesting and always exciting subject for me. Moved here at 6 months old in 1953. Have pretty much been here since then. This is Trenton Rd. and Woodbourne Rd intersection. No matter where we live in Pennsylvania it's a beautiful place with GREAT people.

Bird Box
This year 2018, I enjoyed Thanksgiving with Mrs. Smith and her daughter Karen A Smith at her home. Great home styled cooking and all the fixings. After we relaxed for a time and the cleanup was completed, Karen asked to take a ride to Tyler State Park in Newtown, Pa. It was a beautiful afternoon and a fantastic idea. The roads were clear on the way to the park and when we arrived it was practically empty. Good time to take a slow ride and enjoy the wildlife. As we entered the backside of the park we immediately encountered as series of the roadside "Bird Boxes" I was struck by this one because at first looked it appeared to be the letter "F" like the first letter in my last name. In reality it is a "7". I loved the seasoned weathered look of the box attached to the metal pole. Karen asked if I would like some photos of the box. When she looked at the photos at home she decided this was the best composition and I agreed. Karen and I do many collaborative projects together. I tried adding some new colors to my palette to enhance this Original Oil Painting. I hope you enjoy the result!

Fairless Hills Garden Center
Title: Fairless Hills Garden Center, Medium: Oil on Canvas Panel, Size: 11 x 14", Price: $1500 USD. This is a great place to shop and look around. I always take my camera and painters hat. There is so much visually going on here it hard to decide what to get involved with for painting. I was drawn to this corn as I passed it and took many photos. I started the Oil Painting loose and fast. I was hoping it could stay very loose and expressive but I failed again. The distinct difference between each piece needed to be shared :) I checked there isn't any twelve step program for detail painters. It was fun at first then it went to the dark side. I started painting each kernel. I was able to pull away with a finished product I am proud of painting. Just so you know I could have spent a few more weeks on this! So I am making progress :) I love painting !!!!

Caffe Galleria Kitchen
I was contacted by a friend to create an Oil Painting for an Auction to benefit Lambertville Historical Society. Loving the area I was glad to spend some time taking photos and grabbing a bite to eat in some of their great restaurants. The Lambertville, NJ. and New Hope, Pa. areas are a great place for Art and Artists. This Oil Painting is a scene from the Caffe Galleria at 23 N. Union St. Got great service. Karen and I shared this delicious vegetarian "Sticky Bun" with our coffee. Nice people at the restaurant :)

Title: Maryanne's Brunch, Medium: Oil on Canvas Panel, Size: 11 x 14", Price: $1000 USD. Karen and I stopped in Maryanne's Home-style Cooking Diner on Woodbourne Road in Levittown, PA. for some brunch. The food was good and the place was decorated with lots of Coca Cola memorabilia. Very comfortable and great service. I happened to have my camera with me so I took many shots of the place. I sometimes feel funny about doing that because people may feel it's an invasion of their privacy. Especially when they are eating. So I photograph mostly objects. I thought this glass of water was interesting. Hope you like it!

Title: Alan Bowl of Fruit, Medium: Oil on Canvas Panel, Size: 11 x 14". This is the second Still Life I painted from our visit to Alan Show in Doylestown. Busy Art week for Karen A Smith and I. Painting, Meetings, Social Media, Exhibits, Shows and Museums. I am a Happy Artist :) This Oil Painting is the result of a visit Karen and I took to the opening of Alan Exhibit. The Show is located at 181 E. Court St. Doylestown, Pa. The Building and the Artwork in the exhibit are well worth the trip. I haven't painted many setup still life's in recent years. Bolton Mansion Secrets
Bucks County is rich with Stone Buildings and Barns. Each one is its own work of Art! The craftsmen hundreds of years ago were masters at what they achieved in construction. Bolton Mansion in Levittown, Pa. is one of these buildings. Luckily we have people who want to preserve this structure for generations. I feel privileged to be able to do my part by creating Oil Paintings of Bolton Mansion. I trust my Artistic Craftsmanship will last as long as the structure through the centuries. This Oil Painting started as a sketch and ended as a finished piece. Karen A Smith and I went on a tour of the building and then walked over the large property. Karen took this photo. This is a simple door and window on the main building but as History has it nothing is as simple as that when you consider the centuries of people coming and going. All the secrets that this building holds is mind blowing :) I just fell in love with the image. Hope you enjoy!

Revolutionary Texting
FINALLY FALL!!!!!!!
This Oil Painting is the result of an event day at the Historic Bolton Mansion in Holly Hill Section of Levittown, Pa. The Troop of Colonial Campers are from the Crossing Community Church. The Canvas Panel used to design this Original Oil Painting was supplied by a friend Anne Ditmar from Washington Crossing Community. The man with the cell phone is from a photo taken by Karen A Smith formally from Washington Crossing Community. Karen thought the combination of Old Colonial and NEW cell phone era made an interesting subject. Of course I agreed :) The rest of the composition and all artistic adjustments are made from me :) Not from the Washington Crossing Community but very happy to know and meet the wonderful people from that area of Pennsylvania. This was a quick sketch that turned out to be a finished Oil Painting.

Maybe I have lived a sheltered life. Actually this flower came from Europe via Karen A Smith. Karen took the photo and gave me permission to paint it. Rocks
I began painting this Oil Painting in April 2018 and finished it today. Some art works become something other than the original concept. I started working this piece with some dynamic compositional elements. The Rocks were perfect for this idea. After laying out the design it became more than I initially conceived. The Color, Shadows, Lines, Weight of objects and other parts of the painting began to become evolve into a struggle between each object, pressures and movement within the color and lines. Each Rock became an individual painting and also had it's own personality and level of importance. For me there was a struggle between all the components. It became important how I portrayed these pieces and the negative and positive spaces. The light moving through the scene help to move my eyes from the intense shadows that at first overwhelmed the composition. Finally the grass helped to move the main characters into their own spaces. I am very happy with the outcome of this Oil Painting and look forward to painting my next one.

Creating a new Original Oil Painting gives the Artist the freedom to make changes and adjustments. This Oil Painting was a challenge because I have not attempted this type of lighting situation. The dynamic motion of the Dancers along with the background creates the kinetic musical effect and jubilance of the moment. I hope you can feel the excitement of the performance. The audience seems to be in a trance.
Roseberries
We were invited to a Holiday Dinner Party at my good Friends Chet, Rose, and Carol's home. Their Home is located in a beautiful area of Bristol Borough, Pa. right on the river. The dinner was unbelievable. All the different food and tastes. I couldn't help but to try a little of everything. It was all perfect! During the courses of the meal this bowl of Strawberries was placed on the table in front of me. I glanced at the colorful arrangement and looked back immediately. Here we go with the crazy part. The Strawberries were placed in the bowl in a magical arrangement that was both musical and kinetic. The leaves were flowing from one to another. I did notice construct wise they were all facing different directions. No special placement was done. My eye kept circling the arrangement. This was a very happy accident. I knew it was calling me to paint it. So I did! They were delicious :)

Guillermo
Karen A Smith and I grew this beautiful Amaryllis Flower inside at Christmas time. I was very impressed with the beauty of this delicate flower. If you follow me you know I name all my flowers and plants. I generally wait until the flower tells me their name. This flower spoke to me almost immediately and proudly announced his name as "Guillermo". Karen A Smith raised the flower until it bloomed and took this portrait of Guillermo. Overwhelmed with the wonder of this presentation I was called by the Oil Painting Overlords to do this painting and asked Karen for permission. Of course she agreed :)

Team Mates
As a young child sports were a big part of my life. I played team sports football, baseball and pick up basketball. Never was the best player, but I loved the game. As a parent I coached or assisted my son's teams and enjoyed teaching the children the game, not focusing on winning. Everyone got to play equally. The children on my team typically were the ones no one else wanted and could not see their possibilities. To my surprise the last season I coached the team, we won it all. This oil painting is my grandson and his friend warming up before the game. For the composition of this painting, I took advantage of the dynamics happening in the field and capitalized on their movement and positions. It really worked for me. Hope you like it too.

Sammy
Title: Sammy, Medium: Oil on Canvas, Size: 16 x 20" , Price: SOLD
Wow time flies! It was three years ago I painted my first CAT Oil Painting. I Love animals, but do not have any pets. It takes a very mature, reliable, and responsible individual to take care of a pet properly. My experience from friends and family raising a pet is like raising a child. They do become part of your family. I raised four children. No interested in any more! I am highly allergic to dogs and cats. However, I do care about the welfare of animals. I think I mentioned in the past I have feral cats in my backyard daily. They stare at me while I paint. This was one of those days Sammy was staring inside. My everything partner Karen A Smith ,(who took the photo for this painting), saw this cat very badly injured and nursed it back to health. While this was taking place five other feral cats were reaping the food and water benefits. Last winter was very hard on Sammy so I allowed him inside for some R&R for two weeks. Since he was so well behaved we think he had once been a house cat (In a previous Life ). Sammy didn't want to return to the wild life and was adopted by Karen :) Sammy got an Extra life last year! Nice to have a happy ending!
STONED
These stones are located on a road I have traveled for many years. The intersection where they are located has changed drastically over the last forty years. It was an old country crossroad where in the place the stones are located was an old weathered barn and some antique cars. There were also farm animals and horses. It was something different to see every time I passed this place. Instead of a stop sign there is now a red light. I still use this road very often and I see this wall of large stacked stones. I would think they might have been part of the old barn's foundation. I can't look at these stones without seeing in my mind what use to be there. The farm land behind the stones has been replaced with new modern houses. Life moves on!

BIRD WATCHER
In my neighborhood we have a few stray cats that visit my yard looking for handouts or birds etc. My yard is safe because I don't have any threats. Typically I don't feed the animals because I don't like walking to my shed and having a shoe surprise. This cat is one of the wild ones. I think he rules the area. I love all animals and don't want to see any harm come to them. These cats have been around for years and I don't dare go near them. I saw "GARFIELD" sitting on the 6 foot fence behind my home. He didn't see me and his stare was so intense I had to capture it. He is waiting for birds.

Another idea and photo supplied by my partner Karen A Smith. Since we both work in the same space we share ideas and materials. It's a wonderful artistic life to live. I have been painting animals and flowers in my backyard. This is a painting of my shed. I know it needs to be primed and painted. The weathered wood is so beautiful I will find it difficult to cover. Paintings like this take more time because I can't get away from looking deeper into the detail. The play of color, wood, and light was amazing to study. Although it was tedious to paint I learn so much in the execution. I hope you enjoy the final Oil Painting.

Yellow Yard Bird
I have many colorful birds in my backyard. My better half Karen A Smith , also a brilliant artist, planted a beautiful garden this year. The Sunflowers really attract the birds for the seeds. I love watching them jockey for position on the flowers. The only problem they have is the collection of feral cats that frequent the backyard. (Karen's Pets). Soooo, I decided to paint a number of these beautiful birds.

BLUE YARD BIRD
I have been focused on my back yard for Painting inspiration. I have mentioned before and I have heard other Artists say how much we miss or don't stop to see in the world around us. This is the third yard bird painting. I have been in the house for the last 10 years. I always saw the birds but never considered to stop and really look. I should have many more interesting paintings of my backyard coming :)

The last 4 years I have painted an Oil Painting of Santa Claus. It started when my youngest daughter asked me to paint Santa. I really enjoy doing these paintings and they pretty much flow off the brush. This year I wanted to do something a little different. So I painted my Irish Santa. I wanted to give a feel of older and also some modern aspects of Santa. Don't know what will come next year. It will be something fun.

This painting the iridescent wall paper caught my eye. It changed color and shape as you moved. I thought the pattern would be interesting to paint. Hope you like it ;)
Hostas
A 20 inches by 24 inches oil on canvas, Price: $2800.00 USD SOLD
I'm fortunate to have a nice front porch to sit on in the good weather and enjoy the day. One morning I was frustrated with a painting I was working on because I couldn't get the right green mixed. I was also having problems between the colors I mixed. Nothing was going right. I know I have at least three tubes of various green oil paint in my drawer I could use at any time instead of mixing a green. But one of the things that drives me as an artist is the challenge.
I decided to limit my pallet last year to four colors and a white. The colors are Alizarin Chrimson, Cadmium Yellow Medium, Ultramarine Blue, Burnt Umber and Titanium White. I didn't stay with that very long because I needed to add Cerulean Blue for certain greens and other mixtures. That seemed to work just fine. I learned to mix color fairly quickly. I could make small adjustments easily. The reason behind this was to learn how to do it and color harmony. I used to think limiting the colors I use out of the tube would lead to mixing mud, but the opposite occurred. I was able to mix and change values fairly quickly and got a better handle of the old color wheel.
Okay, getting back to the green problem. While I was sitting on the porch gazing at the hostas and pondering life, I saw an amazing challenge right before my eyes. I walked into the studio and grabbed my camera. I started snapping pictures of all the foliage in front of me. It was a perfect challenge to my current problem. I entered the studio and choose the largest canvas available. I began to sketch out the plant and later referred to the photos for the color matching. The painting I ended up visualizing in my mind started out as a very abstract concept. The movement of the shapes and the variegated variations really interested me. All the negative and positive shapes that made up this painting of GREEN leaves was further complicated by a layer of morning dew. I knew this wasn't going to be easy. I was right!
Until next time!

BOWSER
Family and Friend. From the time he was a puppy BOWSER had personality. My Daughter Jennifer owned four dogs he was one. He would always meet me at the door with a toy in his mouth whipping his head back and forth to show off for me. Apparently I am the ALPHA dog at Jens house. They would always run around like nuts whenever I appeared. Bower was a gentle Giant and would sit on my feet because he was too big to sit on the couch. Everything you would want in a perfect dog Bowser possessed. I only recently found out that certain breeds of dogs do not have long life expectancy. We had BOWSER with us for six years. I LOVED this DOG! Hope you like his image. :)

Simple Shapes
I started my painting career as an abstract non objective Oil Painter. That was my interest and understanding of pure painting. WELL! Things changed as time moved on and so did my ideas. I won't go into all the changes life gives to deal with everyday. I worked with many great young painters and I learned that I could do my abstract painting in a very objective Oil Painting. I have been painting in that manner ever since. Someday I hope to Master my search for whatever it is I am hoping to achieve. Until then I paint challenges and everyday life. The way I see it.

Margaret Grundy Museum
I have a little over a Billion images in my mind that I intend to paint someday. I do not create just one type of painting or any subject matter just because it sells. Painting daily is my quest. I like the idea of painting to help the viewer see something in our world differently. Maybe a memory, experience or an emotion. It also okay if it just makes them smile. There is so much we miss as we go through our everyday life.
I'm constantly making mental and photo records of t...hings and places that interest me. Sometimes someone will show me something that I end up painting. This painting has been on my mind for a very long time. When I heard the Community College show was to have Art that reflected what was great about Bristol, Pa. I thought this was perfect.

Carousel Horse 2
Carousel Horse 2, 16 x 20", Oil on Canvas, Price: $1800.00 USD. I painted this as part of a continuing series of Carousel Horses and Carnivals. The story behind my fascination with this subject goes back to my childhood. I always enjoyed doing different things and keeping busy. I also liked earning money from an early age. At the age of about 8, I asked my mother if I could get a job at the local church fair. That is where it started, and lasted until I was about 14. Made lots of good friends and money. The money wasn't so much the fascination as was the excitement of the challenge of the unknown. I worked at all the fairs in my area for all those years. Learned lots about life.
Red Barn, Oil on Canvas, 16 x 20"
I completed a small study of this subject and decided to produce a full version. There are so many Bucks County Barns that are beautiful and waiting to be captured in Oils. The stone wall fascinated me because it was obvious it was built at two different time periods and the materials at that time each section were different. Price $1800.00 USD
Yardley Farm
The old weathered barn is a thing of beauty to me. that fact coupled with the old red tractor called to me to paint this scene. I wanted to add some additional points of interest so I may have over emphasized the weeds and flowers but the distant farm is just as it appeared that day. Title: Yardley Farm, Size: 16 x20" Medium: Oil on Canvas, Price $1800.00 USD
Wood Wagon, 11 x 14", Oil on Canvas
This wagon is outside the Rolling Green gallery on Route 202 and Aquatong Rd. I was in an Art show at the barn and loved the venue and the property. I returned several times to more studies. Fall Leaves
Fall Leaves, 16 x 20", Oil on Canvas, Price: $1800.00 USD. . Having fun doing my larger works this month. Put the final touches on this fall scene. Magnolias in Violetwood. 11 x 14", Oil on Canvas, Price: $1100.00 USD. This painting was a quick Alla Prima study. I liked the movement and colors. Fisherman's Wharf
Fisherman's Wharf, 20 x 26", Oil on Canvas, . Some paintings taker longer than expected to complete. I paint in layers developing color and detail on every layer. I mentioned before sometimes I work on as many as 10 paintings because of the drying process of oil paints. This painting was put aside many years ago (38 years). I lost my notes and reference material, but didn't want to let it go because I liked the composition. It was also where I spent a week of my honeymoon in 1977, before going to Hawaii for a week. Last month while cleaning some old documewnts I found my reference material, so here it is completed. SOLD
Red Tulips
Title: Red Tulips, Medium: Oil on Canvas, Size: 11 x 14", Price: $1100.00 USD. Every year i am amazed at the vibrant red color of these flowers and think about painting them . This year I did. I approached this composition as an abstract design. Looking down at the flowers offers an incite into the hidden world of the tulip. Paintings like this excite me and from the start I want them finished. Patience is a virtue I am blessed with. The flowers are many layers in order to build up the subtle shadows. Paintings are never finished but this one is very close. By the way, You could own this painting it is for sale!
Yellow Roses
Title: "Yellow Roses", Medium: Oil on Canvas, Size 11 x 14"
My friend Karen Smith brought some beautiful roses to my studio to cheer it up a bit! She also provided the great violet, red, blue, green etc., iridescent vase. I have not painted flowers in a while but this arrangement got me in the mood. I didn't make any special arrangement to enhanse the composition. I simple painted what I observed and that was more than enough. Each rose has it's own personality. They lasted very long in my studio mainly because I talk and sing to them. I can't figure out if they like Rock N Roll or Classical Music. SOLD

Pick Me
Title "Pick Me", Medium: Oil on Canvas, Size 16 x 20", Price: $2100 USD. I think the frame is going to be a very important consideration for this painting. I like the way this painting worked out. At first it was a struggle but that is good for learning. I wrote previously"As an Artist I look at the world around me in a very special and amazing way. As the song says "Everything is Beautiful", "in it's own way". Sometimes I look at things as objects but for the most part I am... looking at shapes , color and Points of View. The subject is usually the last consideration. Then again there is always the exception. I saw theses Dolls sitting on a shelf at a friends store in Bristol, Pa., "Another Time Antiques" . Many time I would stop in to talk with Richard P. Vallejo (owner) and the Dolls were there staring. I photographed them many time but did nothing with them. Finally I placed them in a composition on a canvas to see how they would look. With a plane background they looked scary and not too exciting. So I added antique wall paper which sort of worked but needed to be more exact then I had planned on painting. I then saw some Art of an friend from my studio days. Aleta Cortes had published some photos of very beautiful cracked walls and other worn things and I thought it would fit perfectly(http://www.blurb.com/books/2836060-the-way-i-see-it). It worked fine but It needed more! Added the plant and not sure if I like it. Completed. Tell me what you think!"
Theresas' Garden
I took the time to take a better photo of the painting today. I'm still looking for a good title. Title: Theresas' Garden, 16 x 20" , Oil on Canvas. Another lost painting completed. I could use some help naming this painting. There is a long story about the purse on Theresas arm that I won't go into. The purse was her grandmothers and she took it everywhere. This composition is capturing Theresas First Garden on Horseshoe Lane . She worked on the garden with her maternal grandfather and was showing off the fruits of her labor. She grew the flowers also. So I need a name for the Painting . open to suggestions. I have a few but I would love to know what you think! There is a little more to the story! The purse belonged to my mother JUNE but the children called her "JUNEBUG" Theresa carried it everywhere she went.
Steam Train
This is an example of a type of painting I love to complete. I started by painting the entire canvas black. It was the first time I tried this method. It worked pretty well but I will have to wait for the painting to dry so I can varnish the finished canvas so the blacks will even out. Right now there are hot and dry spots in the black. I mix my black with Ultramarine blue and Burnt Umber. This photo needs color correction the face has more red in the cheek area. Well I wanted to share the finished painting today.
Title: "Steam Train", Medium: Oil on Canvas, Size: 16 x 20" , Price: $1900.00 USD.
Sunflower Swirl
Title: Sunflower Swirl, Medium: Oil on Canvas, Size: 11 x 14". This painting is a little different color expression than I regularly paint. Artistic License! I try new things all the time. I like the way I feel when I look at this in the morning. It really wakes me up. Artist Karen Smith planted some sunflowers in my backyard. They are beautiful. Couldn't resist expressing how they glow in the sun. Price $1100.00 USD
Rolling Green Barn Window
Rolling Green Farm is a beautiful site in Bucks County. This Oil Painting is the third I have created from the site. This view is looking out the window at the field behind the barn. There is this huge tree surrounded by Christmas trees across a vast field. I tried to capture the light of the day as it streamed into the window. It was an cloudy day and there was a haze to the light filtering into the room. Hope you like it! :)

Font Hill Interior
I started this painting about 14 years ago. I'm very happy to have completed the painting. It was a challenge to paint and keep my sanity. Many color and perspective and shadow changes. Each tile is individually painted. Every pain of glass became its own painting with reflections of the inside of the room. I have always had a fascination with Inside/Outside and window pane paintings. The contrast of interior settings and what is happening outside can be extremely different and evoke all sorts of feelings and excitement. Multiple window panes also serve as paintings within a painting depending how they are depicted. Cold, Hot, Warm, Cool, Bright, Dark etc are all examples of what you can do with color and light. Pattys Prize
Art of the Flower
Over the past two years I noticed I took an interest in painting flowers. I stayed away from the subject for many years. As a younger and less experienced Artist I had the opinion that it wasn't Artistic unless it was a part of a greater creation. I began painting flowers at my daughters insistence two years ago. I still resisted then because I didn't want to paint Oil Paintings that would be considered commercial. You know painting something that would look good over the couch or by Dads favorite chair. Once I got into the subject and study of flowers I realize I missed the boat once again. I was wrong in so many ways to resist. I could on about how much I learned about the subject, but I'll leave that for another time. This painting is the first large floral Titled: Pattys Prize, Size: 16 x 20", Oil on Canvas, $1800 USD
Cold Train
I have been planning this painting for a long time but didn't have a stretched canvas I could paint it on. Once I got the canvas it worked out as planned. It's a memory of my many years of working in the Steel Industry. The cold empty feeling of leaving for the last time a career that gave my family life through me. There are mixed emotions whenever something ends and new beginnings. It's all part of life. I bet you thought it was a painting of a train :)
Title: Cold Train, Medium: Oil on Canvas, Size: 12x24", $ 1800 USD
SHADOW STUDY
SHADOW STUDY, 11X14, Oil on Canvas, $1100 USD. I was setting up some still life setups and had these apples and sugar container as props. I noticed how the shadows changed depending on the proximity of other objects. I think it was due to the intense light in the front. So I painted it as a study. Old DOG new Tricks!
Walk the Dog
I painted this scene supplied by my sister Alice Furey a few months ago. I took me some time to go to the Library to scan. It is an image that really makes me feel relaxed and happy. I love the composition and warmth of the image. Title: Walking the Dog, Medium: Oil on Canvas, Size: 11x14", Price: 1100.00 USD
Red Wheelbarrow
Rolling Hills Barn has interesting subjects for local Artists. I saw this small wheelbarrow many time sitting out on the front porch. It weathered and aged look always amused me but I never photographed it. I was early dropping off a painting for a show at the barn and the light was just right to take some photos. The small Wheelbarrow may be used to display flowers, but I image a child playing and farming their own little garden with their grandparent.

Thank you GOD! I love SPRING and FALL :) This is the first of several paintings that have been inspired by the change in the weather. Durham Barn
It is fun to paint a subject you are familiar with in order to really see it as it exists. Life is too short and the places we run by can sometimes be wonderful places to remember. This barn has always interested me, but I could never stop to study it or photograph it for a painting. Until now! It was a rainy day on my way home from a show and it was perfect. The rain had just stopped, and the sky was bright, and the colors were true. Overcast days provide you with the color that exists without any bleaching. I love vibrant color and the wetness from the rain added to this explosion of color.

Penn Manor Sails
SPRING - Colors are vibrant and the flowers are blooming. I did a series of SAILS years ago and they were very popular. I like painting the boats at Penn Manor in Tullytown, Pa. This area was one of our swimming places as a young boy. There is a small bridge that passes over the connection from one lake to another. We like to jump off the bridge until the police would come and chase us away. Many good memories swimming in a members only cove for FREE :)

There is always something to paint in Bucks County. I feel very blessed living here a majority of my life. Most of the good things in life are found here! Karen Flowers II
Hi Everyone! I know I painted Karen A Smith flowers from our garden about one month ago. I enjoyed the Still Life Oil Painting so much I thought I would take a second look at the arrangement. The arrangement was turned and it really changed the dynamics of the setup and the values of the hues. This Oil Painting has a completely different feeling on the same subject. Columbine from the Garden
The backyard garden is blooming thanks to Karen A Smith! Lots of Flowers and Vegetables. Also seem to be a new hangout for neighborhood Cats and Birds. Certainly not at the same time. That would be messy. Anyway I will paint some of the beautiful flower we grew.

Holly Hill Trash Day
I loved growing up in Levittown in the 50's and 60's. All the children were close to my age. We were never bored. Sports, fishing, hunting, building forts, riding bikes endlessly, swimming etc. Lots of friends and extended families. This painting is at the top of Hollyhock or Huckleberry Lane. This was our snow sledding lane also Bolton Mansion. There was always lots of trouble to get into, but it was all harmless. From this vantage point you use to be able to see the Open Hearth smoke stacks at the mill. There gone now and replaced with all new businesses. For the most part people in Levittown never change. It's still a nice home town. Funny story! All the parents were in their 20's and 30's. Nobody with gray hair. My relatives were from Scranton. I thought you had to move to Scranton when your hair got gray.:)

Industrial Floral
There are many small industries in Lower Bucks County. I would drive my son to and from work at a small paint factory in Morrisville in an industrial park. I noticed someone at the plant wanted to beautify the outside of this cinder block building. They took some industrial containers and planted some beautiful flowers. I thought it was interesting when I first saw it so I took some photos and now I finally did my oil painting.

Polzeath Boat
I started thinking about this painting after I returned from a visit to my daughter Theresa Furey in the UK. It is an area in Polzeath.
Polzeath (/ p ə l ˈ z ɛ θ /) (Cornish: Polsegh, meaning dry creek) is a small seaside resort in the civil parish of St Minver in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom.

Julios Table Setting
This Oil Painting was inspired by a local Pizzeria that Karen A Smith and I frequently visit because the people are friendly, kind and are fast on service. The place is always clean and the food is great! It also has comfortable seating and a nice decor. Sounds like I am advertizing for the place :) I do recommend that if your in the Queen Ann Shopping Center in Fairless Hills you stop in and enjoy some food at Julios Famous Pizzeria !

Scary Spice
This weather has me totally confused. I don't ever remember this in my lifetime. Then again my memory is not all it used to be. If you don't know there are lots of feral cats in the neighborhood. Many sit outside my back door watching me paint. This one is "Scary Spice". One of the male ALPHA cats. Seems to be posing for me!

After the Storm
This is one of those paintings that I have been working on for several years. I think my daughter Theresa took the original photo. I used a portion of the image to add interest to the composition. I tried many backgrounds and skies. Finally, a few weeks ago I got one of those fleeting moments of inspiration. Because of the complexity of the cross design and the perspective I realized I needed something dynamic to offset the detail. I love the way this happened, and I feel the struggle and the storm! Hope you like it!
