I LOVE the FLOWER GIRL
Staying with the ideas of painting musical arts related images and images of women who have worked and served in many capacities in and around Bucks County I decided to paint the image. In the past I have given all the credit to my mother for raising me right with the proper values and morals. I truly believe the women in our country are not given enough recognition for their contributions in the workplace and at home. That probably hold true for the rest of the world also.

Grazing in the Grass
The Art of MUSIC has been a big part of my life since childhood. Every morning, I would wake to the sound of my mother singing all the classic children's songs as well as the days popular music. Just thinking about it makes me smile. This made my mornings wonderful and full of joy. My sister and I would dance and sing along with her. what a way to start your day.
This attitude stayed with me throughout my life. I listen to and play music all day. It doesn't matter what music either. I believe it inspires my oil painting. With that thought in mind I decided to paint this and more to come.

Another Bucks County Farm scene. This Oil Painting was inspired by Winslow Homers' painting "Boys in a Pasture". It also relates to my objective to paint what I have experienced. Scenes like this conjure up many memories of experiences in my life. Life was much easier when I was young. We needed less and appreciated what we had. Family!

Yellow Ballerina
This painting had some issues that I kept going back to make it better. I always have a vision of what the end product would look like. That is what I strive to achieve. Sometimes we fall short and have to try again. After three attempts I am happy with this result. My method of painting is somewhat abstract, so I don't see the entire painting until I step back, or I will take a photo and upload it to the computer to pick out any flaws. I really love painting the anatomy and all its complicated nuances. Enjoy!

Sand Shadow Beach Boy
I liked this image on many levels. The abstract nature of the shadows in the sand seem to tell a story of his exploration. The simple yet honest fascination children have while observing their own shadow is always amusing to me. In this Painting the boy seems frozen in time looking at the distorted shadow in the sand. It makes you wonder what amazing stories are coursing through his mind maybe images of Aliens or being Super Human etc. Anyway I look at it I SMILE. I hope you do too!
